The bodycam footage is finally out. And now the truth is there for everyone to see. HeeHaw wasn’t charging. He wasn’t attacking. He wasn’t some uncontrollable threat. He was doing what everyone who knew him said he always did: running up to greet someone in his friendly, curious way. And for that, Officer Trenton Garner shot and killed him. Watching the footage makes this even harder to stomach. HeeHaw was a one-year-old miniature donkey, on his own property, being himself. That should never have ended with a gunshot. For weeks, we demanded answers. We demanded the footage. We demanded accountability. Now we have the footage, and if anything, it makes the need for justice even more urgent. There is no world where what happened to HeeHaw should simply be accepted and forgotten. We are furious. We are heartbroken. And we are more determined than ever. Officer Trenton Garner must be held accountable for what happened to HeeHaw. We will not stop speaking his name. We will not stop pushing for answers. We will not stop until there is justice. #JusticeForHeeHaw. Now more than ever.

💔 Cops SEARCHED her land with NO warrant. The girl wasn't THERE. They SHOT her baby donkey ANYWAY. Nobody knocked, and nobody called the OWNER. HeeHaw was a year old and bottle-raised, and he trotted up to say HI. The report says he "charged." Watch the tape and TELL me that's a charge. One round DROPPED him, and they walked away without a word. Later a supervisor called and said a donkey had been "DISPATCHED." She and a child searched several acres in the DARK until they found his body. Nobody should EVER have to live that. 🎥 @AvozOnSupply https://t.co/Z0n40DmdyA

HeeHaw Lawsuit Update: A federal lawsuit just laid out, paragraph by paragraph, exactly what the officer who shot HeeHaw is accused of doing. Rockmart, Georgia. Hannah Israel filed suit September 11 against Officer Trenton Ryan Garner and the Cedartown Police Department. The complaint says Garner entered her enclosed pastureland after 10:30pm searching for a missing person who was never found there, with no warrant, no consent, and no exigent circumstance. He encountered HeeHaw, described in the filing as young, small, and tranquil, posing no threat to him, any officer, or the K9 on scene. He shot and killed the donkey anyway. The complaint says officers left HeeHaw's body on the property without telling Israel where to find it. She was only told over the phone that a donkey had been "dispatched." She and a minor child searched the dark pastureland for hours before finding the body themselves. She's suing under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments for unlawful entry, unreasonable destruction of property, and deprivation of due process, plus punitive damages. A donkey that never threatened anyone is dead, and a child had to help search for the body in the dark because nobody bothered to say where it was. H/t Federal complaint https://t.co/03T4VknySw
